Roger Moore On the day in 1927, British actor, Roger Moore was born.  He was best known for playing James Bond.  In fact, he starred in 7 Bond films between 1973 to 1985.  Roger also starred in The Saint (1962 to 1969) and in The Persauders with Tony Curtis.

Historic Dorset Manor Auctions it's Contents Built in 1485, Athelhampton House is regarded as one of the most important Tudor manor houses in England.  It has had some pretty impressive visitors including royalty, dukes as well as the likes of Douglas Fairbanks Junior, Aly Khan, Noel Coward, Michael Caine, Dame Maggie Smith and Thomas Hardy who lived near by. The estate was recently put up for sale for £7.5 million pounds and today the contents were sold off which were expected to raise over £1 million.
