Girls Just Want to Have Fun

http://www.marieclaire.com/celebrity/g979/famous-bad-girls/

Marie Claire wrote an article on naughty girls throughout history starting with the original bad girl Eve.  Here are a few more to add to the list of 15 which included Dita, Cleopatra, Elizabeth Taylor, Angelina Jolie and Bettie Page.

Catherine The Great was the most renowned and longest-ruling female leader in Russian history (1762 - 1796) and it became known as Russia's Golden Age.  Throughout her reign, Catherine took many lovers often elevating them to high positions for as long as they held her interest.  Her sexual independence led to many stories about her, among them, allegations of an erotic appetite for horses!!

Hungarian-born film actress and socialite, Zsa Zsa Gabor, has been married 9 times.  She once commented that "I am a marvellous housekeeper:  Every time I leave a man, I keep the house".

Ava Gardner was married to Mickey Rooney, Artie Shaw and Frank Sinatra who was blasted by gossip columnists for leaving his wife for such a noted femme fatale. After divorcing Sinatra in 1957, Ava moved to Spain where she fell in love with bullfighter, Luis Miguel Domingulin.

American Socialite, Wallis Simpson, had already been married twice when she met King Edward VIII.   The King's desire to marry Wallis threatened to cause a constitutional crisis so in December 1936, King Edward abdicated to "marry the woman I love".

Marilyn Monroe was married three times, the first when she was 16 to sheet metalworker James Dougherty, Joe DiMaggio and Arthur Miller.  She also had affairs with both JF Kennedy and his brother Robert who reportedly visited her in Los Angeles the day she died.

Italian-French singer-songwriter and former model is married to former French President Nicolas Sarkozy.  However, Carla has been linked to Louis Bertignac, Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, Leos Carax, Charles Berling, Arno Klarsfeld, Vincent Perez and former French Prime Minister Laurent Fabius.

Keeping cosy and warm

Suitcases Abandoned  New York Asylum

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2338714

Not at all glamorous I know - but check this article out -  I found it so interesting.   Photographer Jon Crispin has been documenting 400 suitcases that were found in an attic at the Willard Asylum for the Insane, New York, which date from 1910 to 1960.

This belonged to an Eleanor G and contained an expensive bottle of perfume, curling irons and a sewing kit.

This perfectly preserved uniform was packed away in 1950 and not found again until 1995.

This belonged to a wealthy lady called Flora T.  Her possessions include a perfume bottle, silver napkin ring as well as drugs and needles.

This belonged to a lady called Anna and contained toothbrushes, belts, sashes, shoes and hats.
Morning Bike Ride

A cycle ride along the Castleman Trailway to meet friends for coffee.  Fresh, but very enjoyable.

Marlene Dietrich

The great Hollywood actress, Marlene Dietrich, was born this day in 1901.  At the age of 40, whilst staring in Seven Sinners, she met the younger John Wayne, who fell madly in love with her and they were together for 3 years.  It is rumoured that he dodged being drafted up for the war effort so that he could remain with her (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2819281/)
