 Here are my top 10 favourites of glamorous couples:



Probably the most famous of all are Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.  Having met whilst filming Cleopatra in 1962, they went on to marry and divorce twice.


Ava Gardner and Frank Sinatra were married from 1951 - 1957.   Frank was Ava's third husband and was reported to be the love of her life - she never remarried after their divorce.


Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall met on the set of "To Have and to Have Not" in 1944.  They married in Ohio in 1945 - Lauren was 20 years old and Bogart was 45.



There has been no political couple that have been as glamorous as John and Jackie Kennedy.  They were married from 1953 - 1963.


Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn starred in 9 films together.   Katherine was his mistress for 26 years.



Robert Wagner and Natalie Wood  first met in 1956 on Natalie's 18th birthday and were married the following year - they separated in June 1961.  In 1972, they resumed their relationship and were remarried on the 16th July 1972 and remained married until her death in 1981.



Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward first met in 1953 and later reconnected on the set of The Long Hot Summer in 1957.  The married on January 29 1958 and remained together until his death in 2008 from lung cancer.



Marilyn Monroe and Frank DiMaggio first met in 1952.  They were married on January 14th 1954 which lasted for just 9 months.   However, the couple remained close until her death in 1962 and which is reported that DiMaggio never fully recovered from.



Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh were married in 1940 and were known as acting's golden couple.  They were married for 20 years.


Jack Nicholson and Anjelica Huston first met in 1973 at a party in LA.  They were together until 1989.
