Happy Birthday - May Britt



Happy Birthday to Swedish actress, May Britt, who is celebrating her 82nd birthday today.  May had a brief film career in the 1950s in Italy after being discovered as a teenager by the famous film-maker Carlo Ponti.  In the late 1950s, she relocated to Hollywood where May starred in films such as The Young Lions (1958) with Marlon Brando and Montgomery Clift and Murder Inc (1960) with Peter Falk.



In November 1960, following a brief engagement, May married Sammy Davis.  The marriage was controversial as at that time, inter-racial marriage was forbidden in 31 states.  The marriage lasted until 1968 when Davis reportedly had an affair with dancer Lola Falana.
