Dorset Links to WWI

Dorset has one very unusual link with WWI - the grandson of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria (whose assassination in June 1914 was one of the key events to kick off WWI), John Stonborough, lived with his family at Glendon House, in Brog Street, Corfe Mullen.  After the death of both John and his wife, Lady Veronica, the estate was sold in 2007.
