Restoring Sandbanks Beach Last year, Sandbanks beach lost 10 years worth of beach erosion due to the storms.  Over the next few weeks, over 40,000 cabin metres of stand is being pumped back onto the beach and then the diggers are working 24x7 to restore the beach.  Today, there was quite a crowd watching. http://www.heart.co.uk/dorset/news/local/40000-cubic-metres-of-sand-to-protect-poole-beach/
