Hot Gossip

Dancing troupe, Hot Gossip was formed by Arlene Phillips in 1974.  The troupe were famous for the risqué nature of their costumes and dance routines.  In 1978 they became a regular feature on the Kenny Everett Show which lasted until 1981 when the show moved from ITV to BBC.

Some of the dancers included:

Famous classical singer, Sarah Brightman was recruited by Arlene Phillips and in 1978 the group fronted by Sarah had a disco hit with "I lost My Heart to a Starship Trooper" which went to number 6 in the UK charts.

Perri Lister also was a backing singer for Steve Strange's Visage and starred in music videos for Duran Duran and Billy Idol who she had a 9 year relationship with.  She starred in "White Wedding" as his bride.  The couple had a son but broke up in 1989.

American-born singer, Sinitta Renet, combined her early singing with being a Hot Gossip dancer.  Sinitta has had 14 international hit singles and 3 albums, appeared on stage at the West End and as a contestant on I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.   She is also close friends with Simon Cowell and has appeared as a mentor on the X-Factor with him.
