Celebrating 50 Years - Isle of Wight Festival Hundreds of people have crossed The Solent this weekend for the 50th Isle of Wight Festival. Bands such as Kasabian, Depeche Mode and The Killers will be playing. Probably the most famous of these festivals was held in 1970 where over 600,000 people listened to the likes of: Jimi Hendrix The Doors The Who Jethro Tull Chicago Joni Mitchell Moody Blues Donovan Joan Baez
A great afternoon was spent at the Captain's Club in Christchurch with family, enjoying a delicious champagne afternoon tea. I have to say I don't think I have ever eaten so much cake!! The setting was lovely and the staff so friendly - definitely need another excuse to pay another visit :) So much cake Happy Belated Birthday Bern xxx
Queen's Coronation Gown The coronation of the Queen took place on 2nd June 1953. The dress the Queen wore was designed by Norman Hartnell and took 8 months to complete.
