Jean Shrimpton


Happy Birthday to one of the first supermodels, Jean Shrimpton, who is 76 today.  

Jean featured in magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle and Vanity Fair.  In 2009, Harpers Bazaar named her as one of the 26 best models of all time and in 2012, Time voted Jean as one of the 100 most influential fashion icons of all time.

Jean has credited, British fashion photographer and husband, David Bailey for launching her international modelling career.   Jean also became famous for promoting the mini skirt and caused a sensation in Melbourne in 1962 when she wore a skirt 5" above her knee.
