Remembering the Amazing Gloria Vanderbilt


American heiress, author, actress and fashion designer, Gloria Vanderbilt died yesterday at the age of 95.

In the 1930s she was the subject of a famous high court trial between her my mother and her paternal aunt who fought for the custody of her and her trust fund left by her father which was worth millions.

Gloria became a top international model and appeared in Harper's Bazaar at the age of 17.  She then went into the fashion industry designing a pair of jeans that were more tightly fitted to other jeans at the time.  She also designed shoes, perfumes and household accessories.




In her early years, Gloria was linked to Errol Flynn, Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra, Howard Hughes and Roald Dahl.
