Elvis dyed his hair black - his natural colour was in fact brown

At 18, Elvis paid $4 to cut his first record as a gift for his mother

In 1954, a local radio station played Elvis' version of That's All Right 14 times in one day but had trouble convincing audiences that Elvis was white.

Allegedly the nickname for his manhood was "Little Elvis"

The hit "Heartbreak Hotel" released in 1956 was inspired by a newspaper article about a local suicide

Rumour had it that Elvis did not tour abroad was due to his manager, Colonel Tom Parker, being an illegal immigrant from Holland

Elvis was 6' tall and wore size 11 shoes

It took 31 takes to record Hound Dog

The 1960 hit "It's Now or Never" inspired a prisoner who heard it in jail to pursue a career in music upon his release.  That artist was Barry White who was serving a 4-month sentence for stealing tyres.

Nicolas Cage who was married to Lisa Marie Presley from 2002 to 2004 is reportedly the only person outside of the immediate Presley family who has seen Elvis' bedroom.
