Right Ladies, we have started the LBD diet for the Party Season, now we need to think about our makeup. I love YouTube for their tutorials and will definitely be practising getting the glam look. If you have not tried them before, definitely invest in a pair of false eyelashes - they are on sale everywhere such as Boots, Superdrug and most clothes shops so have a couple of trial runs and when you are feeling confident, try a pair from Shuuemura ( http://www.shuuemura.co.uk/accessories/false-eyelashes ), they have a fantastic range.

This afternoon went to Portland Bill and Kimmeridge to watch the waves coming in. Portland Bill Kimmeridge On the cliff top at Kimmeridge is Clavell Tower which was a folly built in 1830 by the Smedmore Estate. In 2006, work started on rebuilding the Tower as it was getting dangerously close to the cliff top. Now you can stay there for short breaks. Check it out - what a fantastic place to stay. www.landmarktrust.org.uk/search-and-book/.../clavell-tower-6222

Hollywood Bling Everyone loves a bit of bling whether it be sparkly costume jewellery or the real thing. Elizabeth Taylor's love affair with jewellery is well documented but I thought I would share with you some other leading ladies exquisite pieces. Emerald ear-rings worn by Vivien Leigh in Gone with the Wind where she tries to seduce Rhett Butler in the green velvet drape dress. Jean Harlow was only 26 when she died but still managed to accumulate quite a collection. This art deco emerald ring is beautiful. Marlene Dietrich's acting career took off in Germany in the late 1920s and she was one of the first women to make wearing trousers look super sexy. This necklace was worn in a publicity photo by Marlene The Cartier watch below was bought for Jackie Kennedy on her 50th birthday by her son.

Wonderful Waspies In 1947 waspies or waist cinchers were included in the House of Dior's Spring\Summer Fashion Show to accentuate the nipped in waist which went on to become known as the "New Look". Once again, they are back in fashion. Not only can they look super sexy with matching underwear and stockings, they define the waist (you can reduce your waist by 2"), but also give a smoother look to an outfit. High Street shops such as Marks & Spencers and Debenhams have included them in their lingerie ranges so you don't have to pay an absolute fortune. So ladies, for the party season fast approaching, why not invest in one to wear under your LBD. heelshipslips.com
