Did you know it is Ralph Lauren's birthday today?   Born in 1939 in New York City as Ralph Lifshitz he is best known for his Polo Ralph Lauren range.  In 2012 Forbes estimated he was worth $6.5 billion dollars which would make him a very rich man indeed (162nd to be precise).

Miss French Riviera American-born, burlesque dancer, Dorian Dennis started off wanting to be a doctor after obtaining a Batchelor of Science degree at New York University but in the 1950s decided to move into the world of burlesque.   She was known as Miss French Riviera and travelled across the USA, Canada and Europe earning up to $1,200 a week.  Sadly Dorian died at the age of 40 in Florida from cancer.
