Reginald Heade - Vintage Paperback Cover Artist

Very little is known of Reginald Heade, Britain's most famous illustrator of "girlie" paperback covers of the 1940s and 50s - in fact he produced over 300 covers.  He was born in 1901 in Essex and also published under the name Cy Webb.  Reginald died in West Ham on the 14th October 1957 leaving no children or will.  In 1954, he stopped signing his work when the publisher of his books went to jail on obscenity charges.
