Hardy Country Exhibition

As a huge fan of local author, Thomas Hardy, I am off to Dorchester today to visit Duke's Gallery.  It is the last day to view the artist, John Everett's rare collection of local landscapes before they are auctioned.

John Everett was close friends with Thomas Hardy and they lived only 3 miles apart.  These paintings were found in a trunk in a bathroom when they had been left since 1925 when they were shown at the Camera Club in London.

A picture of Wimborne Bridge is also in the collection with a price guide of £300.   Hmmm very tempting.
