Suitcases Abandoned  New York Asylum

Not at all glamorous I know - but check this article out -  I found it so interesting.   Photographer Jon Crispin has been documenting 400 suitcases that were found in an attic at the Willard Asylum for the Insane, New York, which date from 1910 to 1960.

This belonged to an Eleanor G and contained an expensive bottle of perfume, curling irons and a sewing kit.

This perfectly preserved uniform was packed away in 1950 and not found again until 1995.

This belonged to a wealthy lady called Flora T.  Her possessions include a perfume bottle, silver napkin ring as well as drugs and needles.

This belonged to a lady called Anna and contained toothbrushes, belts, sashes, shoes and hats.
