Live Aid - 30 Years Ago

This weekend, 30 years ago, saw the world's biggest concert, Live Aid.  Organised by Sir Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for the Ethiopian famine.  The event was held simultaneously at Wembley Stadium (72,000 people) and the JFK Stadium in Philadelphia (100,000).  Over 1.9 billion people watched the live broadcast across 150 countries.

The Coldstream Guards opened with God Save the Queen followed by Status Quo with Rockin All Over the World.  Queen stole the show and were voted the greatest live performance in the history of rock music.
