It was to celebrate the opening of the new HQ for The New York Times. The owner, Alfred Ochs had fought and successfully won for the area then known as Longacre Square to be renamed Times Square. http://www.timessquarenyc.org/events/new-years-eve/history/index.aspx#.UsKzFOxFDct

Happy Birthday To: Belgian born, Diane Von Furstenberg formerly Princess Diane zu Furstenberg is celebrating her birthday today. Probably best known for her iconic wrap dresses which have been worn by both Princess Diana and the Duchess of Cambridge. Sadly we lost Donna Summer, the "Queen of Disco" last year to cancer but she was in fact born this day in 1948 in Boston, Massachusetts. In fitting memory, whilst getting ready to go out tonight, pop this on and play it loud.

http://deadlyisthefemale.com If you haven't heard of this boutique already then now is the time to take a look. They are based in Frome, Somerset and were established in 2008. They specialise in 1940s and 50s Hollywood old- fashioned glamour and believe we ladies should embrace our curves. It was here that Nigella Lawson bought the red wiggle dress that wow'd America. This is pinup model Doris Mayday modelling the Monica dress which they have on sale (£150) which I think looks absolutely amazing. I also thought these satin pumps would be great for the Spring and very reasonably priced at £35

My New Juno Bowling Bag http://www.junoaccessories.co.uk/bags.html I am just loving my new shiny, pink bowling bag and matching purse which I got for Christmas. The bag is made by Juno who were launched in 2010 and have been hugely successful both here in the UK and globally. Their products are very much, up-to-date and are reasonably priced. I am a great fan and theirs and this my second bag - I have even introduced my Daughter to their range by buying her a lovely black bag for work.
