History of New Years Eve - Times Square
Did you know that the first New Year's celebrations in Time Square, New York were held in 1904? It was to celebrate the opening of the new HQ for The New York Times. The owner, Alfred Ochs had fought and successfully won for the area then known as Longacre Square to be renamed Times Square.
