In August 1939, on the eve of WWII, famous photographer Horst P Horst took the photograph of the Mainboucher Corset in the Paris Vogue studios in Paris.   The photo went on to become his most famous fashion photograph with its slightly erotic mystery.

The Victoria and Albert Museum are holding an Exhibition on this Master and here are a few of my favourites:
