A Beautiful Day for a Sail


Good luck to all those participating in the Isle of Wight, J.P. Morgan Round the Island Race today.  The first race was in 1931 when 25 yachts took part and today it attracts over 1,700 including celebrities and royalty.

Miss French Riviera American-born, burlesque dancer, Dorian Dennis started off wanting to be a doctor after obtaining a Batchelor of Science degree at New York University but in the 1950s decided to move into the world of burlesque.   She was known as Miss French Riviera and travelled across the USA, Canada and Europe earning up to $1,200 a week.  Sadly Dorian died at the age of 40 in Florida from cancer.
