Burlesque Hall of Fame

Over the weekend, I watched a documentary on the Burlesque Hall of Fame based in Faremont Street in Las Vegas.

The museum documents the history of American burlesque and displays artefacts commemorating historic burlesque performers.   It started off as a private collection belonging to exotic dancer Jennie Lee when she owned the Sassy Lassy Nightclub in San Pedro, California and subsequently grew as people from all over the world donated to it.

The collection includes posters, photographs, publicity stills, newspaper clippings relating to famous burlesque performers such as Blaze Starr, Lilli St Cyr and Tempest Storm as well as gowns, feather boas, g-strings and jewellery.

Every year, the Museum holds the Miss Exotic World Pageant which is known as the Miss America of Burlesque (see What's on Guide for details).
