I'm currently reading Coco Chanel: The Legend and the Life by Justine Pacardie and read that in 1932, Coco Chanel sailed into Poole Quay on board a steam yacht owned by Lieutenant Commander Montague Graham White. Apparently, despite the dreary weather, she wore a white dress and jacket.
Miss French Riviera American-born, burlesque dancer, Dorian Dennis started off wanting to be a doctor after obtaining a Batchelor of Science degree at New York University but in the 1950s decided to move into the world of burlesque. She was known as Miss French Riviera and travelled across the USA, Canada and Europe earning up to $1,200 a week. Sadly Dorian died at the age of 40 in Florida from cancer.
