I was very sorry to hear that a chap I went to school with and local film critic,  Anwar Brett, died in November with his battle against cancer.   Anwar wrote for the Evening Echo, Total Film, Flicks, Film Review and the Guardian.  He was a regular at London screenings and press conferences with the major stars.  Bafta have acknowledged his efforts in film and television and he is listed in the Bafta In Memory of ...... http://www.bafta.org/heritage/in-memory-of/?obituaryYear=2013
