The first Corvette was designed by Harley Earl and introduced at the GM Motorama in 1953 as a concept show car and are still going strong today.

Betty Skelton known as the Fastest Woman on Earth was the first woman to drive an Indy car and broke the transcontinental speed records.  She drove a red Corvette until her death in August 2011
