It first opened in August 1923 and since then the rich and famous have been flocking there. Stars who have stayed there include Madonna, Michael Jackson, Walt Disney, the Rolling Stones, Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth, Gina Lollobrigida, Brigitte Bardot, Princess Diana, Tom Cruise and Pavarotti.
