Dolly Rebecca Parton was born this day in 1946 in Locust Ridge, Tennesse.   Dolly is the most honoured female country performer of all time as well as starring in a number of successful movies.



Tippi Hedren (born Kay Hedren) was born this in 1930 in Minnesota.   She is best known for her roles in the Hitchcock films, The Birds and Marnie.  Prior to acting, Tippi had been a successful model in the 1950s and early 1960s.  In 1957, she gave birth to her daughter, actress Melanie Griffith.
