Janet Reger

Having been given some lovely Janet Reger underwear for Christmas, I thought I would do a little piece on the great designer.

Born in 1935 in the East End of London she became famous in the 1960s and 1970s for her lingerie.  At the time, pretty lingerie was almost unheard of tended to be very plain, utilitarian garments and for that reason her designs caused a mini retail revolution when they were launched.

Princess Anne, Bianca Jagger and Angie Bowie were early customers and Nina Carter and Jilly Johnson were the first glamour models to model her underwear as well as Joan Collins wearing her underwear in The Stud.

Sadly Janet died in March 2005 but her daughter, Aliza, took over the business and it continues to go from strength to strength.
