Singer\Songwriter, Elton John, was born this day 1947.  His greatest selling album Yellow Brick Road is 40 years old and is being re-release in a box set with live performances, film footage and various artists doing cover versions such as Fall Out Boy and Ed Sheeran.



Sarah Jessica Parker born in Ohio this day 1965 is best known for playing Carrie Bradshaw in the great television hit Sex in the City.  As well as a successful actress, she has also become a fashion icon.



Aretha Franklin is 72 today and is regarded as one of the best selling female artists of all time having sold over 75 million records worldwide.  My favourite being Respect.





American TV actress Marcia Cross is 52 today.  Best known for playing Bree Van de Kamp in Desperate Housewives.
